Thursday means Quilt Therapy

It was a full therapy group this week.  All four of us were able to get there on Thursday, which is a rare occasion.

Maria has finished her Fabulous Fracture and was putting the binding on it.  Black was a good choice to really set it off.

She rounded the corners
and may use it as a table runner.

Joyce finished her Casserole cover and is now hand sewing the binding.

Beautiful Batik fabric.

Pierina had a busy week and finished all 8 placemats.  To-day she is quilting them.

All sewn and ready to be quilted.

I made two 12 1/2 inch blocks that will be made into
pillow shams to match my Maple Leaf
duvet cover.

Quilt Bee Quilt and 3 more BOM

I got our Quilt Bee quilt back from the longarm quilter a while ago and I had to put the binding onto it.  We had the binding all made before we left the bee so I just had to sew it on.

I like the red binding, I think it frames
it nicely.

I was able to make 2 more blocks from my Irish Quilt.  I still have 3 more to go to get caught up on this BOM, since it took me a while to select all my green fabrics to make this one.

The instructions called for pink fabric with
fairies, but I couldn't find any so
I found this cute fabric with
butterfies.  I think it will add a different spin
to this quilt.

Seven Lucky Shamrocks.

I also got my H block finished and it's partner.

I probably should have made the Hibiscus
brighter but I wanted it to match
my H Block.

Empty Bowls Caring Hearts

Yesterday I went to a Placemat Bee for Empty Bowls Caring Hearts.  We met at Lakehead Unitarian Fellowship for most of the day.  There were at least 20 women there all making placemats for Empty Bowls Caring Hearts.

We were served a delicious lunch of homemade soup and buns.  We even had birthday cake, since Karen's birthday was the next day.

Our lunch.

There was lots of variation in the placemats that were being made.

This was an orphan square that was made into a placemat.

These are the same pattern, just different colours
and it gives a very different perspective.

Three more placemats that were worked on.

A great day was had by all, will lots of production
thrown in.
